Azam Rehman :: For a long time, as part of the implementation of the promise made in the election manifesto, some labor leaders led by former mayor Kashirul Alam used to stop various vehicles and collect tolls in public. As a result, the citizens and traders were overwhelmed with the huge traffic jam and accidents in the municipal city. Ikramul Haque, a heroic freedom fighter and a leader of the masses, was elected as an independent candidate in the Pirganj municipal elections on 28 December. He stopped collecting tolls in the city from Thursday as part of his commitment to exempt the municipality from tolls, as described in his election manifesto. With the current municipal town being toll free, relief has returned to various quarters and has been appreciated by the conscious quarters.
